| Their biography on the official site starts with a rather remarkable phrase: at school "stuffing" the 11-year old Sammy with math and geography, instead of telling him about WASP, Motley Crue and Hanoi Rocks, the teachers did not consider the fact that in the classroom next door there was another boy, Eliaz, with exactly the same interests. In mid 90's Sammy and his friend Jari thought about forming a band to which they invited their own classmates. Sammy began singing, Jari played the guitar. Right after one of their parties Eliaz joined the band as a drummer. Common music interests dictated their music style - rock'n'roll decadence of late 80's - early 90's. The current line-up rehearsed a lot, performed here and there, even recorded Smooth Motions EP. But like it often happens, the line-up changed after their first significant release. The new members - bassist Spit and keyboard player Ilari - were tested in the studio, as the band recorded 5 new songs for the promo CD. Reports, especially by the foreign labels, were most favourable. But something went amiss, the whole year 2001 went to smash and finally Jari left the promising Private Line for the monsters of Finnish heavy music - Trio Niskalaukaus. Sammy decided that it's high-time to change something and moved from his native town to Helsinki - seeking his fortune there. And he found it - hanging about Helsinki clubs and parties he met Jack. This lucky acquaintance brought back the idea of reviving Private Line. Eliaz, Spit and Ilari also moved to Helsinki. From the very beginning of 2002 they intensely rehearsed new songs and on December 5 Bad Habits / Kraklund Records released Six Songs of Hellcity Trendkill. Favourable opinions, numerous gigs in all parts of Finland, the army of fans... All this proved that Private Line's endevours are not in vain. Their first single - Forever and a Day - came out on February 11, 2004. The release of the long-awaited album was on April 14. Like all young bands Private Line perform a lot, especially in small clubs of Helsinki and other music Finnish towns. Often they perform together with Negative, as well as the closely-related band Deadbabes. Besides they supported the gigs of The 69 Eyes and Lullacry. The Finnish press also noticed the young band. They were interviewed by such alternative magazines as Tuhma, Sue, Rubma. The influential Soundi published a most positive review on Six Songs of Hellcity Trendkill. Their first single Forever and a Day made it to Suomipop radio charts during the first week. The band was favoured by the creators of the legendary Finnish movie Levottomat - their song Sleep Tight was chosen as a soundtrack for the 3rd part of the movie. The last release of Private Line is their debut long play called 21st Century Pirates. Private Line discography :
