Hawes (the name is derived from old Yorkshire dialect "hause" meaning "pass through the mountains") stands at the head of Wensleydale, at the point where the Dale abuts the central highland mass which forms the stunning Pennine Hills.
As a result, the surrounding scenery is very dramatic, and ranges from the rounded upland fells of the Pennines, to the broad valley slopes of the Dale at their highest point bare, scarred by rock outcrops, but lower down more fertile until, at river level, they become green meadows.
The bathroom contains a full size bath with a shower over, a sink with storage underneath and the toilet is separate.
There is a ski locker with the apartment and is situated on the ground floor, adjacent to the lift.
